The show will cover all business applications for design and prototyping. In terms of manufacturing, the focus will be on healthcare, aerospace and automotive.

Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies align well with the needs of the medical sector. The relatively small size of many medical devices as well as requirements to customize products for individual patients are well within the capabilities of current AM systems.

AM technologies enable aerospace companies to produce customized, complex, feature-rich and functional components cost-effectively and quickly. There is no necessity for tooling, while high-tech materials allow for high strength to weight ratios.

Advances in AM technologies are allowing automotive manufacturers to create enhanced designs that result in less expensive, safer and lighter products in the shortest time possible. Traditionally used for rapid prototyping, AM is now being used for direct manufacturing as well.
